Want to celebrate our 10th Birthday with us?

Want to celebrate our 10th Birthday with us?

We're throwing a party for our tenth birthday, and we want you there - but first, you must complete... ATOMIC QUEST.

Hey Atomicans, you know what’s happening early next year?

ATOMIC TURNS TEN!

That’s right, we’ve been breaking hardware, throwing video cards, overclocking things and playing games for ten... whole... YEARS. So, as you can imagine, we’ve got bit of a celebration planned for the 17th of February 2011.

All next year we’re going to have special articles and offers in the magazine and online, but we’re also throwing a party. We’re hosting a fabulous trivia night that’s going to be all about tech, gaming and the magazine we all know and love. It’s going to have our partners in the industry along as well, but it wouldn’t be a proper Atomic party without proper Atomicans.

But you need to prove your worth!

For your chance to come along to this Atomic night of nights, you need to complete... THE ATOMIC QUEST. You need to infiltrate the new Atomic HQ and recover three packages of tech from GIGABYTE, Kingston and Antec. How you get into the building, overcome a series of diabolical challenges is up to you – and your Quest starts... NOW. Watch the video below, and make your first decision...

How did you make the videos? Did you tape a camera to your head or something? Also who was that :P

Im going to go back and do all the dead ends now, I liked it. It took me a while to figure out what was going on, for the first 20 seconds or so of the first video, I was looking at all the clues because I thought we actually had to physically locate the office and get the loot IRL. I was going to look up all Victoria St's in Sydney trying to narrow down what suburb and everything! :P

/slaps forward

Saw all the dead ends and all of them were hilarious from giving Dave a scare down to Dave hating me for not liking ME2. That was the best Choose-your-own-adventure in a long time.

Heh. Cool idea, it *was* a lot of fun going back and doing all the dead ends. It only took me three tries to find the right Dave, compliment his 'do, and get the kit. But, CRIKEY, that Xbox was hard to resist....

Cheeks, it's a dedicated head-mounted HD camera. Really small and cool bit of a kit, that we're hoping to use in a LOT more videos.

He he he. Just played all the variations. Very funny. Dave looks all gentified and noble with that hair do. Makes him suck at Splinter Cell IRL though - he couldn't hear all that grunting and carrying on when he walked past the infiltrator!?!?!? :D

Dec 21, 2010 7:32 PM
I was wondering if someone had taped a camera to a stack hat or something lol :P

Sounds good, dedicated kit, nice. Maybe you can bring it out again at the party for an interesting angle of highlights for those who cant attend and have some cool content for the website?

Choose your own adventure of the party could be... interesting haha :P

Yeah, but it took us two days of recording a lot of paper to plot even that simple one out! I'm planning on being WAY too drunk for that kind of co-ordination.

That said... could be a neat thing for some very keen Atomican to wear... *hint-hint*

I made it first try, the second time was fun. Perhaps a little flash game next time?

But seriously now, how about the most epic birthday present ever? The only thing ive managed to get to was a Killzone demonstration (which was pretty awesome actualy.. I got to hump a hellgast and got a signed poster. That has been the best thing so far... And it wasnt even for PC! I'm a PC gamer damn it! But I couldnt turn down going. But the best tech mag in the known (and unknown?) universe's birthday on my birthday? come on..

Oh, here. little Helgast humping action:

Maybe for those that have problems (like BookWorm.303), subtitles?

Yep felt old school there choose your own adventure with a FPS+FMV (First Person Sneaker + Full Motion Video) feel. So you can win going through the back door or the front. If I say I took the back door will I get sniggers from the audience.

Good distraction, I chose what I knew would be the wrong option most times, just to see. After all the world is full of FAIL and it is how you handle it that counts :)
