Dawn of War II - Retribution special editions announced

As that release date gets ever closer, THQ drops news of a couple of special editions for fans and newbies alike.

We’re now less than two months out from the release of the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Retribution, and it’s pretty safe to say we hyere in the Atomic offices are a little bit excited.

If you’re not quite there yet, THQ has today sweetened the pot by announcing a pretty special Collector’s Edition, now available for pre-order.

What do you get if you go Collector? Well, there’s the tangible stuff: a very cool poster and six exclusive art cards, all packaged up with the game in a special box. But the real goodness isn’t so easy to leave fingerprints all over – it’s the bonus 24 unique abilities and wargear items that you’ll have access to. There are four for each of the game’s six races, so whether you’re an Ork, a Space Marine or a member of the Imperial Guard, the Collector’s Edition gives you a very handy leg up.

Potential newbies to the Dawn of War II world haven’t been forgotten either. As well as the Collector’s Edition, THQ have also announced the Complete Collection. If you’ve ever thought about giving over huge chunks of your life to Warhammer 40,000, this might just prove the time to do it. The Complete Collection includes Dawn of War II, Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising and Dawn of War II – Retribution, all bundled up in one box of supreme goodness.  And you get the exclusive art cards too.

And because there’s still a while to go until Retribution drops in early March, you’ve got time to wrap up all those pesky little real-life loose ends before getting stuck in. Win!

CE for me. Same price at EB for the CE as the single race editions on Steam. Why would I want to pay $60USD for a ordinary pack when I can get the CE for $60AUD? What a ripoff.
