It's Friday afternoon, and I know I don't have to tell you what that means: Beer! And also weekend! And .... links!
It must be Stephen King week in Hollywood, with news emerging that both The Stand and Pet Semetary are up for re-making (or making, if you don’t count the Molly Ringwald mini-series of The Stand). Obviously, it’s early days, but we can’t help but wonder if no-one in these brainstorming meetings saw Pet Semetary 2? Sometimes well enough is best left alone, people!
Speaking of well enough, and that being a highly, highly subjective notion, MTV have confirmed this week that they’re bringing back everyone’s favourite music-video watching animated stoners. Yes, Beavis and Butthead are on their way back to certain television screens. We’re trying to stay positive about this: it’s a step up from Jersey Shore AND if they keep the music video content of the original format, it will see a 100% increase in the number of music videos the channel plays a week …

Of course, because we all live down here, we’re not going to get to see it until *cough* Go! airs it next year, but we thought you might like to know …
Over in sci-fi TV land, we have good news for a change! Fringe, which has recently moved to US network Fox’s graveyard of a Friday night, is actually rating well enough that it might get another season! Yay! Again – look out for it *cough* on Go! sometime in the distant future …
And now, a question: Will Orson Scott Card’s sci-fi classic Ender’s Game ever make it to the big screen? Sources say … possibly. Sci-fi peeps everywhere say it had better be damn good.
And now for a couple of videos. First up, this Volkswagon Superbowl ad seems to have gone a little viral, so if you haven’t seen it yet, here’s your chance to catch up. And finally, a chainmail, sword-fighting and bad haircut filled international trailer for upcoming (and rather awesome looking) medieval action flick Ironclad. Nice.
