Dragon Age: Atomica - our fanvid!

Video: Atomic's caught the fan-vid bug. We may not have Felicia Day, but with our Dragon Age video, YOU get to choose the outcome!

About a month ago, Atomic and a lot of other folks from the Haymarket office spent a sweaty day at National Park near Roseville - and we made a film.

Not just any film, however - we made a Dragon Age fan film with a unique twist. At the end of each part, you get to choose what happens next. Dragon Age is an RPG about choice and consequence after all, so we thought our video should reflect that.

As well as having lots of swords and action, of course!

So now it's up to you - as our brave heroes (who you may recognise) fight their way out of a bandit ambush, you get to decide what happens next. The next part, which we'll release next week, will then show the consequences and then end with another decision, and then the final release will be the full short vid.

So watch the vid, and make sure to watch it in 720p! In the words of Josh the Video Guy "because it's awesome and whatnot".

Action! Adventure! Elves! And now, the choice is yours - does the bandit live to... bandit another day, or should we kill the poor guy?

Brilliant. We're hiding the poll results, because we want the reveal of what happens to be a surprise, and the poll's open until this Friday - so that we have enough time to do the final edit on the next video.

Hawkeye Feb 22, 2011 8:35 PM	Well... that fight was shot from four directions. Lots of setup, lots of takes, lots of shots. That entire vid took about five hours of shooting :) Gotta love filming stuff.

We exited the tavern to be greeted by a gorgeous sunny day. A great end to a truly memorable night. On our way home we helped some shepherds with their livestock crossing, played with some local children, and even gave some alms to the poor. We were near the end of our journey and entering a clearing, when suddenly some lunatic brandishing a sword jumps out of the bushes and attacks us! We had no choice but to defend ourselves against this brigand! And now he has the gall to ask the great Atomic community whether or not he should “slay that mofo”?! I’m an innocent man whose friends are now dead by a coward’s hand who could only defeat us with the aid of magical arrows. I plead with you now great Atomicans; do not go down this path of hate and evil, and choose the honourable path and let me live!
