As another issue goes off to the great print farm in the sky, we bring you another bumper crop of news, videos and general geeky oddity. Enjoy!
First off this week, a little bit of music – in this case, a hip-hop EP based on Sam Rockwell’s 2009 cult classic Moon. It uses the movie’s score and dialogue and mashes it all up with a whole bunch of stuff for a very cool sonic experience you can listen to here.
Speaking of Moon, director Duncan Jones’ latest effort – techno-thriller, and Jake Gyllenhall vehicle - Source Code has a second full trailer, which you can watch here. And because it’s Friday, and Friday means trailers, you may as well check out the first teaser-trailer for Apollo 18 while you’re at it.
Sci-Fi has given us all sorts of weird and wonderful things over the years, and we love it very, very much. But sometimes it can produce some downright creepy stuff. This feature takes a look back at some of the best, worst and downright oddest sci-fi novel cover art of the modern-ish era. One-eyed runts, anyone?
Last week – or was it this week? – we linked to some speculation about the possibility of a Terminator 5. This week, Den of Geek have come up with a handy guide for anyone out there looking to step in and save the franchise from, er, termination. We like their thinking… now to purchase us some rights.
Hanging out for the sixth season of New Who? Aren't we all? Matt Smith’s been feeling rather chatty about the future of the Time Lord and his companions, and you can see what he has to say here. Obviously, there will be spoilers. Consider yourselves warned (or enticed).
And finally, a couple of bits of sad news that we just couldn’t ignore. RIP The Brigadier - Nicholas Courtney, who appeared in over 100 episodes of Doctor Who, opposite five Time Lords, passed away this week. And the comic world also in mourning, with the death of DC Comics and animation writer Dwayne McDuffie. Sigh. It’s perhaps not been the best week to be a geek.
