Battlefield 3: Faultlines pt2 - made of more win

Trailer: Follow the Battlefield 3 action in the latest gameplay trailer, 'Good Effect on Target'. Boo-YAH.

Well, a lot of people are feeling Homefront's bit of a bust. We're still making up our minds on that front, but it's really hard to look at these pre-alpha gameplay trailers from Battlefield 3 and then look back at pretty much any other game.

Because they look lame and pedestrian by comparison.

The lighting, the texture work, and as we've said before, the animation and movement of the soldiers is simply superlative. The action seems pretty scripted in this latest trailer, so it does make us wonder how much of the campaign will be like that, but when you think of how the multiplayer's going to look...

Director Mar 20, 2011 10:32 AM	Technically it looks the bomb, but any hope they have of me buying is pretty much out the window due to the amount of swearing, which while it doesn't bother me too much it's not the kind of thing I like exposing pre-teens to. Pity, looks like a fun game.

We know that a beta will drop before November (because of the Medal of Honor pre-order beta thang), and that the game is slated to drop before the year is through. I'd be willing to wager that they will aim for a late October/early November release as a big middle finger to the inevitability of a Call of Duty release.
