Sixteen of the world's best gamers fire up Starcraft 2 and get playing in Korea - and you can watch for free!
Anyone who follows big league eSports, or has been thinking about checking it out, will be chuffed to know that last night saw the launch of this year’s LG Cinema3D Global Starcraft II League World Championship – try saying that three times fast – in Seoul. The tourney sees eight of Korea’s best taking on eight of the rest of the world’s most esteemed players and, according to all reports, opening night saw plenty of excitement, action and some stunning upsets.
But we’re not going to spoil it for you by telling you exactly who won, because the best bit is that for the first time, GOMtv is streaming the tournament live in HD for absolutely nothing except the bucks you’re paying to your ISP for the bandwidth – although a donation to their Japan Earthquake appeal would be appreciated (and bring good karma). You’ll be able to watch every match, either live or in replays, right through until the final on April 9th.
And of course, there’s a local in the mix in Andrew Pender – better known to those who do as mOOnGLaDe – so you can get your Aussie Aussie Aussie on as well as catching some sweet, sweet Starcraft 2 action. It’s win-win. Hopefully.
