Want to be a bit more famous than you are now? If so, you could probably do worse than scoring a part in Nintendo's latest Wii commercial...
We may not be the world’s biggest fans of the Wii, but nor are we really a part of their target market. That said, we do give credit to Nintendo for picking itself up off the floor after being effectively knocked out of the console wars and coming back with something that has brought gaming to the masses.
What we are fans of, though, is fame and fortune. And if you are too, you might want to grab a few (three, to be precise) friends, put on your cheesiest Mario Karting outfits and get yourself to EB Games at either Broadway in Sydney or Swanston St in Melbourne between the 9th and 17th of this month. Camera crews will be in store during the day to capture you and said friends paying Mario Kart on the Wii and, if you catch their eye, you could end up a part of Nintendo’s latest TV commercial.
It might not sound like much, but some of today’s household names got their start in TV commercials, so we know better than to knock it, if fame is what you’re after. As for the fortune, well… if we could crack that particular nut, we’d probably be floating off a south-pacific island somewhere, on a yacht, surrounded by piles and piles of money, and much, much too busy sipping cocktails to tell you how we got there.
