Anno 2070 will take the award winning series into an eco-ravaged future, says Ubisoft. This seems familiar...
Yeah, we're sure of it, this seems all very familiar... the long running strategy series, Anno (insert number here) is getting all stargazey. The next game, Anno 2070, takes a big step into Earth's future to deliver a whole new experience.
Ubisoft made the announcement today, and released a few details of the upcoming game, due this Australian summer.
The new era brings new gameplays mechanics, futuristic architecture, and a tale of a world pushed to the edge by global warming (forum user Leonid is, right now, getting very angry). Players will be able to construct huge cities, and the world will be more dynamic than ever. Play styles will have a direct impact on the environment. Anno 2070 will feature two factions, the Tycoons and the Ecos; no prizes for guessing their relative beliefs.
The game engine's been updated, and there will singleplayer and online modes.
