Red Faction: Armageddon - pre-order scoop

With launch just a couple of months away, THQ give us the scoop on the goodies they're offering those who part with their money early.

If you’re ready to head back to Mars for another go ‘round the old Red Faction carousel as some of us are, then you probably don’t need any additional pre-order incentives to get your wallet out secure your copy of Red Faction: Armageddon before it hits shelves in a couple of months.

For everyone else though, a sweet batch of pre-order love might just push them over the edge from ‘curious’ to ‘consuming’. And so, of course, THQ have come to the party, in the best way possible.

Today, they’ve announced that if you pre-order Red Faction: Armageddon through EB Games, you’ll get a bump up to the Collector’s Edition, which includes all of the following:

  • Red Faction: Battleground – A downloadable arcade game for either Xbox 360 or PS3
  • Recon Pack – an in-game boost including a Recon uniform and two new weapons, perfect for sniper missions
  • Commando Pack – including the Commando uniform, a Plasma Thrower and dual Laser Pistols
  • A3 Poster – this one is pretty self-explanatory, and will cover any unsightly stains on your bedroom walls.

On the other hand, you can go to JB Hi-Fi, where they’ll chuck in a free Limited Edition 24-page Red Faction comic book that tells the story of Darius Mason and the events leading up to the opening of this chapter of the game.

The game will be available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on June 3, but if you do want to pre-order, both of these incentives are only while stocks last, so best not dither too long…

might be worth checking out!

I don't know why I thought this new iteration would be a FPS. Third person games are much easier to play on consoles anyways. Loved the original.
