We've got pricing info and release dates for those lucky enough to be able to trek over to the US, and some good news for the rest of you ...
Blizzcon 2011 may still be six months away, but trust us when we say those six months are going to fly by – especially for those of you trying to save your pennies to get to Anaheim for the October event. And now is the time to start thinking about buying tickets, because today Blizzard have announced that those will go on sale in two batches, on Saturday May 21st and then on Wednesday May 25th.
Said tickets will set you back $US175 – which, given the exchange rate, might be a steal come May – and they’ll get you into both days of the convention. You can also hold out for the 28th, and pick yourself up some premium tickets for $500, which also include a seat (and presumably some food) at the pre-show Blizzcon benefit dinner. All tickets will be sold through the Blizzard website.
Not up to the trip? Don’t fret, as this year Blizzard have also announced that they’ll be selling virtual tickets, which get you live online streaming HD coverage from the show floor on both days, as well as online access to interviews, videos, demos, and lots and lots of other Blizzconny goodness, all from the comfort and relative low cost of your own home. A virtual ticket will set you back around $US40, and will also get you in-game loot for World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2 – although Blizzard are yet to confirm exactly what kind of in-game loot they’re talking about. It’s not quite the same as being there, but for most of us, it’ll probably have to do.
Maybe next year…
