Their latest range of SSDs only a couple of months old, but OCZ is already expanding it with the new Max IOPS edition...
OCZ work hard to keep themselves in the solid-state drive hotseat, so it's not too surprising that barely two months after the release of their Vertex 3 SATA III range, they’re already adding to it. Today, they’ve announced the Vertex 3 Max IOPS edition, which features increased random write performance, and promises to be perfect for users that need ‘greater transactional throughput’ than the rest of us.
The drives feature the same Sandforce SF-2200 processors as the rest of the Vertex 3 family, with premium NAND flash components that OCZ are claiming will deliver 4KB random write performance with up to 75,000 IOPS.
OCZ are pitching the drives are ideal for ‘applications that require high aggregate workloads and increased IO throughput’ as well as improved multimedia performance and, for the rest of us, optimal general computing.
The Max IOPS edition will be available in 120GB and 240GB capacities, and we’ll let you know how tasty it really is as soon as we get our grubby little hands onto one.
