New Witcher 2 trailer is fighting fit

There's something about Geralt.

The lead character from the The Witcher and the upcoming Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has some serious fantasy mojo going on. There's the otherworldly eyes, the long white hair, the lithe stance... he's like an Eastern European Elric of Melnibone with a working immune system. In other words... hotness.

And he's even hotter when he's wielding one of the two mighty swords strapped to his back, and you get to see a lot of that kind of action in this new trailer. CD Projeckt's latest vid is all about The Witcher 2's combat, and it goes into the three fields of fighting skills you can focus on - swordsmanship, spells, and alchemy.

It also shows off some of the gorgeous environments of the game. Seriously, it's almost as sexy as Geralt himself!

Rion Apr 28, 2011 10:46 AM	Agreed the environments look amazing as does the character animation, its so fluid. Geralt's fighting style looks even more powerful and graceful as befitting someone of superhuman strength. They have really done some great work with the game in the graphics and animation. Just have to remember not to put all my points into swordsmanship...
Hawkeye Apr 28, 2011 11:09 AM	As a swordsman, yeah, those moves are really nice and fluid. The jumping lunge is a bit naff, but since it nicely mimics Brad Pitt's similar move from Troy, I'm not complaining :)
Rion Apr 28, 2011 11:39 AM	Yeah that was my thought with the jump (Geralt is mimicing Achilles now? :P). Stay on the ground, stay with your center as traditional swordsmanship wisdom. But the guy is a superhuman warrior so he can do that stuff if he wants, and look good doing it. So definitely going to enjoy the ride, and what a ride it is shaping up to be.
Slymonk May 1, 2011 6:02 AM	I can accept the realism of leaping through the air when your follow up move is throwing a ball of fire at someone :) Game looks very sweet, think I'll have to revisit the first game, been a long time since I played it
