Duke Nukem Forever PC specs revealed!

There's even more proof that Duke Nukem Forever is actually coming - we can reveal the PC hardware requirements! And they're not that steep...

So if you ever wanted proof that the Atomic forums move faster than local PR, this is it. Atomican Bushi posted the PC minimum and recommended specs for Duke Nukem Forever this morning - and we're still waiting to hear anything officially ourselves!

Anyhoo, here's the juicy deets!

Minimum Specifications

  • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.0 Ghz
  • Memory: 1 Gb
  • Hard Drive: 10 Gb free
  • Video Memory: 256 MB
  • Video Card: nVidia GeForce 7600 / ATI Radeon HD 2600
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Recommended Specifications

  • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.6 Ghz
  • Memory: 2 Gb
  • Hard Drive: 10 Gb free
  • Video Memory: 512 MB
  • Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS / ATI Radeon HD 3850
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

At those specs, we doubt there's not a single Atomican who can't run the game at max settings. But while that's kinda cool, it does make us worry about just how graphically modern the game's going to look...

Would you prefer them to put the game on hold and update the engine?.....

pfft, who cares about graphics.
ITs all about game play, story, script and score.
i would be more then happy if it looked like 3d.
I think many people will be dissapointed because no matter whaat was produced it would never live up to thier expectations.
I lookforward to kicking ass and not chewing bubble gum what ever the end result is.

+1 to BFG - although something a little better looking that Duke3D would be nice :--P

I'm sorta looking forward to it myself. Looking for some tongue in cheek mindless senseless mayhem.

Can you still throw money at strippers? This new generation needs to learn how to treat strippers!

Not surprised at the specs; modified Unreal engine, after all.

I don't think this is a bad thing- hopefully it means that more people can play the game as its meant to be enjoyed :-)

Also:

"At those specs, we doubt there's not a single Atomican who can't run the game at max settings"

So, you think there is a single Atomican who can't run the game at max settings? Who is the poor guy?
