Trailer: Agent 47 is set to make a triumphant (fingers crossed!) return next year, in Hitman: Absolution.
To this day, there's never quite been a game like Hitman, especially Silent Assassin and Blood Money, the second and fourth games in the series. We've not idea how much time we sunk into those games. The replay value in them was incredibly high, with multiple ways to reach your target and snuff them out, and a great and very active enemy AI.
Now, IO Interactive has revealed Hitman: Absolution will be released in 2012, and it's going to be a much more personal journey for everyone's favourite shiny-domed assassin.
“For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the HITMAN fantasy,” said Tore Blystad, game director, IO Interactive. “This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience to any of the other Hitman games, something our silent assassins will relish as well as those who are new to the Hitman world.”
The game will feature IO's new Glacier 2 engine, and will combine classic Hitman gameplay, as well as whole new - as yet unannounced - elements. The game will be on show at E3, so you can be sure we're going to learn all we can come June.
In the meantime, enjoy the teaser.
