We've got a lovely batch of linky goodness for you this week, with lashings of silliness from the world of Star Wars, Dune, the Avengers and more.
It’s network upfront week in the US, so those of us who watch way too much TV are keeping our eyes and ears open for news of renewals and pick-ups. And feeling grateful to have dodged a bullet with news that after all that, NBC has rejected the Wonder Woman pilot. Yes, that’s right – all that costume re-tooling was for naught.
The net is also rife with rumours that Chuck has been picked up for a fifth season, but given it’s abysmal ratings, we’re waiting for something a little more official than a few unnamed sources before we get excited.
On the cable side of things, HBO have released a trailer for Season 4 of the soapy, bloody feast that is True Blood. If you like your vampires a little more, erm, mature than those on The Vampire Diaries – this is probably the show for you.
In this weeks edition of Stuff that looks like sci-fi stuff, we present this garbage bin. No, really – for something that generally holds nothing more exciting than empty pizza boxes and used tissues, this is actually pretty cool.

And as someone who is currently plodding our way though the brain-melting awesomeness of Portal 2, we could not let the first item in this collection of real-life geeky signs go without comment. Now, we probably wouldn’t volunteer for such an activity in real life, but we like that someone went to the trouble to advertise.
Onto movie news. Well, sort of movie news. Namco Bandai has announced an animated 3D movie based on Tekken, to be called Tekken: Blood Vengance. So long as they’re including Japanese schoolgirls beating up pandas, we’ll probably check it out.
And there’s also the latest little bit of gossip regarding Joss Whedon’s upcoming Avengers movie. Ant Man fans all over the world are delighted.
Dune devotees thing might want to keep an eye out for Jodorowsky’s Dune – an upcoming documentary-type thing that will take a look at what might have been if David Lynch hadn’t beaten them to the punch with the film adaptation.
Finally, this week brought us an odd little bit of tech that’s made us all nostalgic about the sadly long-vanished art of the mixtape. Senneheiser – the folks that make some rather nice headphones – have done this. We like. And now if you'll excuse us, we’re going to run home and find all those tapes we made when we were 14…
