Warner announces new FPS, Gotham City Imposters

Fancy a chance to pretend to be a Gotham City vigilante or criminal, with big guns an urge to use them? Gotham City Impostors will be just your thing.

Seemingly out of left field, Warner Interactive has just announced a new download only FPS, Gotham City Impostors. Coming for XBox LIVE, PC and PlayStation, the game features vigilantes fighting it out in the iconic comic book city of Gotham.

Even better, the game's being put together by Monolith Productions, who have a pretty good track record with FPS games.

“Gotham City Impostors blows apart expectations for superhero games with an exaggerated take on first person shooters, set in a part of the DC Universe players have never seen before,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Interactive in today's release. “Monolith is creating a game that turns Gotham City upside down and we think fans are going to have a blast with this creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism as they play up the classic rivalry between Batman and The Joker.”

Batman...one of the major superheros whose MOs are "no guns" and "not to kill" is getting an FPS? Riiiiiight.

TF2 with Batman & Joker skins, it will be...but was there REALLY a call for it? I say "nay".

Yes, I *know* it's not Batman himself...but still...
