We've got our fingers crossed that id Software's RAGE might just be the next great FPS, and we've got news on what you'll get if you pre-order now.
We’ve been excited about RAGE – id Software’s upcoming first-person shooter for quite a while, and even more so since we got a chance to speak to Tim Willets, the game’s creative director, for our 10th Birthday issue earlier this year.
With the release only a few months away, it’s time for all those pre-order bonuses to start rearing their heads and asking you as nicely as possible to part with your hard-earned dollars well in advance of the September 15 release date.
And Bethesda Softworks, the game’s publishers, are striking the first blow, by upgrading all pre-orders automatically to the game’s Anarchy Edition, no matter which major retailer you go through.
What does the Anarchy Edition get you, you ask? Well, anarchy, of course – in the form of a few choice downloadable in-game upgrades.
First off, a couple of weapons, including a classic double barrel shotgun and something called the Fists Of Rage – a set of razor sharp knuckle blades that will cut up anyone who gets too close.
There’s also the Crimson Elite Armour. The finest armour in all the land, offering supreme protection as well as larger component storage, so you can carry around more gear. And finally, the car. Or, more accurately, the Rad Rod Buggy, a beastly looking armoured vehicle perfect for getting yourself around even the most dangerous barren wastelands.
It’s a tempting little package and all you have to do to get your hands on it is pre-order the game – any way and any how, through any retailer you want, for whatever platform you prefer (yes, that includes PC). September 15 is feeling closer, and further away, than ever.
