Modern Warfare 3 trailer packed with explosions & Hollywood excess

Trailer: The latest Call of Duty game is revealed in an orgy of drama, explosions, deep voices and global combat... Modern Warfare 3 is coming.

So imagine for a moment that some strange scientific experiment produced the viable offspring of three men - Tony Scott, Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay. Now imagine that child - monstrous thing that it is - were to grow up to become a game developer. Can you imagine what kind of game it might create? We can.

It's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Jam-packed with more explosions, more things exploding, more dramaz, and more serious-terrorist-business than any Call of Duty game before it, this first reveal trailer is like a crystalisation of everything that we've always thought suss about the series.

But hey, it'll still make a bazillion dollars, set off more flame wars than religion, and likely accelerate global warming due to the amount of energy expended in new Xbox purchases.

Ummm.. geez the graphics are realy starting to look dated.. esp compared to the graphics of BF3 (same engine as MW and MW2).. all im getting from this is pretty much that MW3 is the same old, same old CoD.. Move on sheeples nothing new to see here ;p.

Atleast this will get most of the fools attentions while us Atomicans will be on BF3 right? :)

It certainly doesn't look crap. I love their motion-capture implementation with their animations.
However with that being said, I won't be buying it. I lost faith in the franchise long ago, and it's going to take more than that to win me back.

I think it looks great. Doesnt mean ill be buying it on release day.

But it looks like Infinity ward are going to bring it big. And if they are feeling a bit threatened by DICE (I think they are a bit) then this will hopefully translate into TWO win games for us. Interesting.

All in all Summer 2011/12 in Australia is shaping up to be huge. Damm still have 6 months of uni to get through // sob, sob.

A story so unbelievable i think they hired the writers from 24 the TV Show, though it is not really about that is it.

I think the movie directors quip is accurate.

As the video finishes "product not yet rated".

Pretty much sums up MW. I don't rate it much. It's reached its saturation point. The stories too unbelievable and too reliant on exponentially bigger explosions.

Disenfranchised.

Apparently they've changed engines... they're keeping quiet on that for now though.

I think the graphics are all over the place. The sub coming up looks great, the train impacting with the pylon looks like N64. No shattering or particles, it just disappears.

The one thing I think they might be going for is a COD1 and COD2 feel... three campaigns from three perspectives (not just lame character switching between spec op squads). I really, really hope they are. That's what made COD... well, COD.

Heh... I'm yet to finish Black Ops. Hopefully MW3 isn't better in the multiplayer arena... coz I'm loving BLOPS online atm.

seesm like a last ditch effort to keep the franchise afloat, I don't see this gong any different from MW2, all hype no payoff.
