If you've not yet finished the main story of Rockstar's crime thriller, you might want to get a move on, as the first lot of DLC has landed...
LA Noire has only been out a couple of weeks, and is still generating plenty of buzz – albeit of various flavours – so we were quite surprised to learn this morning that Rockstar have already announced its whole (for now) DLC release schedule. On the other hand, there’s a lot to be said for striking while the iron is hot, and their plans are suitably impressive.
The reason that they’ve come out with the schedule in one hit is because they’re offering something called the L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass – available from today – which is basically a DLC ‘season pass’, giving users access to all seven chunks of DLC as they become available over the next couple of months, for the introductory price of $10 (for PSN) or 800 Microsoft points (for Xbox Live). That’s half of what each bit of DLC will cost you if bought individually – and the first bits are available for download today.
Of course, the devil is in the detail, and while there are seven DLC options, there are only four actual cases, along with two suits and a ‘collectable challenge’ – and some of that content came with the various pre-ordered copies of the game, so you may already have it.
The list of DLC announced runs as follows:
There’s also the Chicage Lightning Detective Suit, available now for all members of the Rockstar Social Club.
If you’re planning on getting the pass, you’re better off getting it before June 14, when it goes up to $12/960 Microsoft points.
Sam Houser, Rockstar founder, would also like to remind us that ‘L.A. Noire contains boundless potential for new stories and new cases’, so it’s very possible that this is only the first wave of DLC for the detective thriller. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out.
