Trailer: Aliens: Colonial Marines trailers mostly get uploaded in the afternoons... Mostly...
Is there any more chilling, more pants-poopingly scary noise in all of science fiction fandom than the pinging of the Colonial Marines' motion tracker in Aliens?
It's bad enough in the film, as a way to telegraph tension and fear to the audience, and promise of possible horrific dismemberment - or maybe just a cat. In a game, though, it's worse, 'cause it's your face that's going to get ripped off, and your abdominal cavity that's going to get ripped open if you fall into Xenomorph clutches.
(Or it's you that's going to get scared by a falling vent, BUT THAT CAN BE SCARY TOO!)
We announced early today that Aliens: Colonial Marines is finally seeing the light of day at E3, in prep for a release next year, and now we can bring you the trailer. It's really more of a teaser, but it does give you a good idea to the game's setting and focus - tense men with guns fighting the shit out of an alien presence that would really like to introduce them to death by insemination.
