Gamers wanted for the Red Carpet Gaming series

Fancy yourself as a bit of a gaming superstar? Well, here’s your chance to prove it to all those people who haven’t believed you so far…

The Red Carpet Gaming series was announced today by a little mob called Total Leisure Solutions. Red Carpet Gaming events will be rolling out across the country over the next few months and giving gamers the opportunity to win some pretty cool prizes, or even their way into the World Cyber Games National Finals, being held on the Gold Coast in October.

TLS Managing Director, Blake Harris, says the event aims to deliver ‘high class PC gaming events on a scale rarely seen in this country’ – which we quite like the sound of. Especially if by ‘high class’, he means martinis.

And even if he doesn’t, this is one for any aspiring competitive gamer to check out. There’s a range of team and individual competitions in games such as League of Legends, Starcraft II, Heroes of Newerth, Call of Duty 4, Counter Strike and Counter Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2 and, for the sports gamers, Fifa 11 on Xbox.

56 winners from across the country will get trips to the WCG National Finals, including flights and accommodation, and there’s another $20,000 in cash and prizes being given away. Not bad, for a brand new venture.

The first event takes place in Sydney on June 25, followed by events in Adelaide (July 22-24, AV Con), Brisbane (6 August) and Melbourne (27 August). There’s also a second Sydney event in September and a secret – for now – last chance event in October. The website has more information, if you think you’re up for the challenge.
