It's not exactly free-to-play, but the new way the World of Warcraft trial works is pretty damn close!
You know, it occurs to us that there can't be too many people out there who are curious about World of Warcraft, but haven't yet played. Sure, with the massive numbers that WoW has garnered, it's not living off the new subscriptions of young players who are only now coming of MMO - and independant credit card - age.
However, if you are in that dwindling minority, the new trial version of World of Warcraft is perfect for you.
It's not quite free-to-play, but it's almost. You can now play for free up to level 20, across multiple characters. Pretty much the entire game is open to you, saving those parts of the world that will kill a 20th level player dead as soon as look at them.
The only restrictions are that you can't join a Guild, or have more than ten gold.
Otherwise... go nuts.
