Confirmed: Robin coming to Arkham City

It's official - Robin will be a playable character in Batman: Arkham City's Challenge Mode. Sidekicks everywhere rejoice!

In news that will delight some, Warner Bros and DC Entertainment have confirmed today that sidekick extraordinaire, Robin, will be a fully playable character in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City Challenge Mode.

But there’s a catch… for now, anyway. The Tim Drake Robin pack that gives you access to Robin, his unique gadgets and moves, as well as two challenge maps – Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape and a bonus Red Robin skin, is available exclusively for those who pre-order the game from JB Hi-Fi from today onwards.

We can’t tell you what Robin will be like to play, but one of our trusty reporters spent a bit of time with Catwoman at E3 recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so we’re hopeful Robin will be fleshed out in similar fashion. Well, not literally -  Catwoman’s curves are all her own… but you know what we mean.

The Tim Drake Robin pack will be available across all platforms, so if you aren’t completely jaded about in-game content being locked away in pre-order exclusives, and/or are willing to put that aside to get your hands on Robin in all his playable glory, then it might just be time to be heading down to JB. Or you can wait until October and hope the ‘exclusive’ part of this whole thing lifts by then…
