We're not planning to make a habit of writing about Facebook games, but surely this one is worth making an exception for?
Can you remember how you spent October 2010? Well, neither can we – but we suspect we lost much of it to a little game called Civilization V, which we liked rather a lot.
And that’s the only reason we would consider checking out Civilization World for Facebook, which launched today. We’re told that the concept will stay true to the classic Civ formula, with the key difference being the addition of that Facebook factor – the ability to play it with any of your friends.
Civilization World was created and developed by Sid Meier and the folks at Firaxis games, so you needn’t worry about this being a cheap knock-off of the original game. "Civilization World is a fun and engaging game that both fans of the series and fans of Facebook games will find immediately addictive,” says Meier. We’re sure that if it’s even a tenth as addictive as Civilisation V, it’ll be a huge success – but we’ll reserve judgement on how it measures up until we’ve actually had the time to clock up a bit of gameplay.
If you’re keen to while away a few of your precious weekend hours, Civilization World is free and can be found by doing a simple Facebook search. Let us know if you manage to get Machu Piccu re-built, won’t you?
