Bethesda suggests replacing your winter blues with some of the Old World variety, in the form of F:NV's latest DLC.
Fallout: New Vegas was one of the games that really impressed us last year. Sure, it was a bit buggy, and it didn’t revitalise the franchise in quite the same way that Fallout 3 did, but it was lots of fun, and we spent quite a bit of time with it.
And now we have a reason to go back for more, with the release of Old World Blues – the latest DLC – across Xbox, PS3 and PC yesterday.
Old World Blues takes you to the Big MT research crater, where you’re tasked with saving a ‘strange group of post-human researchers’ from their own experiments. There’s a whole lot of new terrain to explore, some new weapons (including ‘surgically–altered Lobotomites’ and even a disembodied brain), and a bunch of new perks, weapons and armour - we’re particularly looking forward to getting our hands into some of the new Mad Scientist gloves.
All up, Old World Blues promises to be another dose of good, clean, post-apocalyptic fun in the Big Empty.
And while we personally haven’t had a chance to get into it as yet, Nic Healey – editor of our sister publication, PC & Tech Authority – had a play last night and tells us it was most awesome. And he’s currently on deadline, so that’s high praise indeed.
