Razer's pimping it's latest set of cans, a so-called mobile gaming headset that to us looks abnormally huge. What do you think of the Electra?
We've an ongoing love/hate relationship with Razer.
Every now and then, the company puts out a product which rocks us so hard it's like we're hanging out with Mike Tyson. Then, for the rest of the time, we're all... meh.
The new Electra headset, just announced by Razer, sits firmly in the middle, at least until we actually get some hands on with these cans.
They idea is that with gaming now more mobile than ever, we need a set of headphones that can deliver great gaming sound on the go. It's a nice idea, and the Electra's promise to "deliver powerful bass depth and crisp clear soundstages in a comfortable and versatile package" certainly appeals. Gaming does, after all, require a slightly different sound balance to music.
However, we're just not sure these 'phones look all that mobile. In fact, they look kind of giant and huge and really awkward to be carrying around in a bag. They also look very... green.
What do you canny folks think?
