BlueTongue says goodbye, breaks hearts

Following a surprise shutdown by owner THQ this morning, Melbourne-based developer BlueTongue says farewell in the most heartbreaking way possible...

We reported earlier today on the shock closure of BlueTongue Entertainment by parent company THQ. As part of a massive restructure which sees 200 people out of work and two other studios gone, it appears have taken all concerned by total surprise.

As we published that story, BlueTongue's site was unchanged, suggesting it was a decision that even they were yet unaware of, but now the site's been updated. And man, it's just so sad.

The company's site now bares a single image, simply called sunset.jpg, and it features a dejected looking de Blob (title character of the studio's biggest hit) staring off into the distance.

Gah.
