CitiesXL is definitely a guilty pleasure.

It's the kind of thing that you never really think to yourself 'Gee, I really want to play some CitiesXL', but whenever you do get around to firing it up (curiousity, guilt, mis-clicking), you inevitably lose hours messing about with urban planning, pollution prevention, and population management.

Or maybe that's just us.

So we're pleased to see these shots of the next game in the series, CitiesXL 2012. It's going to be bigger in every way - more buildings, bigger maps, mod-access... it sounds tops. Not sounding tops is the addition of 'a special guide to get players started'. If it's anything like the facacta 'plot' of the first game, we'll pass.

Anyhoo, for those five readers who share our odd enthusiasm, click away!
