Call of Duty: Elite's 'Connect' pillar explained

Trailer: Call of Duty's Elite service looks like it's got to do a lot of work to convince gamer's it's good - here's some more pushing...

There are well-liked and trusted brands amonst serious PC gamers - and then there's Activision, who is yet to earn back the trust it burned over stripping away ever more features from its PC products over the years. Given that it's the console market that Acti covets, the grumbles of a few PC gamers is hardly going to add up to much, but nonetheless... man, there's a lot of hate about the Elite service.

"Fuck everything about this," was one reader's reaction to yesterday's screens and news on Elite, along with the usual grumbles and curiosities. Yet we, at least - I know, how weird is that we're almost defending Activision?! - are really curious to see how Elite's going to stack up.

This new trailer shows off the Connect side of the Elite equation (the other two being Compete and Improve). Even we admit, it's a bit odd though, watching devs exclaim that 'Clans exist now!' like it's some kind of great revelation. That said, the social side of Elite looks pretty neat, if you like making friends with folks you headshot.
