Competition: Atomic and THQ have a super-human prize to celebrate the impending launch of Space Marine... a life-size Chainsword! UPDATED: One more pic...
We're kind of loopy for the Warhammer 40,000 universe in these parts. We paint the miniatures, play the games, and mod our PC cases to look like 40k gear. We're fans. We know a lot of you are, too, so to you folks I can safely say that what we're about to give away - thanks to THQ and Relic - is one of the best and coolest things I have ever seen.
The Chainsword Mortifax, personal weapon of Captain Titus of the Ultramarines chapter of the Adeptus Astartes.
And, oh my God-Emperor, it is something else.
When we say lifesize, we don't mean normal human size - this thing's designed for an eight-foot tall Space Marine to use. Made from solid polystone and hand-painted by model house Studio Oxmox, it's a truly rare and magnificent artefact of the wartorn future of Warhammer 40,000.
So, if you want this epic badboy on your mantlepiece, hanging in your hallway, or resting by your bed to deter marauding Orks, click on over to our contest page to discover what you need to do to win. And if you want to see some of the incredible detail of Mortifax, have a browse through our gallery.
For the Emperor!
UPDATE: As requested, here's a shot of me (more or less) manfully struggling to actually hold this damn thing!
