The man in the coat is back - Max Payne set to debut on mobile platforms this Spring. Time for a depressing monologue!
One of the seminal gaming experiences of the early noughties was Max Payne, the out of nowhere hit that delivered noir story-telling, comic-book cutscenes, and slow-mo bullet time action, all combined around a gritty, no-nonsense hero of the old school. Down those mean streets walked...
Max Payne.
If you, like me, get a sly smile just thinking about how awesome it was to be Max, and you dig a bit of mobile gaming, you're going to love the news that Rockstar, who have been hard at work on Max Payne 3, are delivering the original game to mobile platforms this Spring.
It'll be the full game, with HD textures Rockstar Social Club integration and 'deep customizable controls'. However, in perfect Rockstar fashion, we don't know exactly when in Spring, or what mobile platforms it's coming on. We asked about Android and iOS devices (we'd love to see it on iPad, though that would likely lead to lots of slow-mo diving out of our seat on the morning train), but got a firm "we have nothing more specific than the announcement" in return.
So watch this space.
And speaking of watching this space, we've also been told that the first trailer for Max Payne 3 will be dropping sometime on Thursday, so, uh, watch this space even more! Yeah...
