Fresh from a Warhammer fan forum, new rumours emerge on Dark Millennium Online, the long-awaited 40k MMO!
Some might scoff at my deep and possibly unmannly love of all things 40k - the miniatures, the story, the games, and, yes, even the cosplay - but today's it's paid off. One of our favourite Warhammer haunts has just uncovered some interesting Dark Millennium rumours from the recent GDC Online conference in Austin, Texas.
It appears a Warsee forum regular is a community manager for a large game retailer, and he's just gleefully posted some interesting news he got out of a THQ employee.
The biggest reveal is that the THQ guy was pretty sure that game's going to be cross-platform, though was not totally sure. The rep did reveal that the game will follow the Space Marine art style (that's a win), and that Relic has had a big hand helping developer Vigil get the game just right (double-win).
The game also, apparently, is slated for a northern hemisphere 'Spring 2012' ship date. That's damn close!
We're keenly await this one, but the cross-platform news is a definite downer. In our ever-so-humble opinion, it really didn't do DC Universe Online any favours, and it'll likely restrict the richness of the UI and control experience on PC. Huh.
Well, at least we have some new art, too, snapped at the show...
What do you guys think of the whole cross-platform MMO thing?
