Trailer: See a lot of cops meet grisly ends in this new walkthrough trailer for Hitman: Absolution. Too much Batman?
One of our biggest regrets at E3 was missing pretty much anything to do with Hitman: Absolution. We've always loved the Hitman games for their truly open take on stealth/shooter gameplay. They'r the ultimate sandbox murder simulator - and we mean that in a damn good way!
Now, however, we've got a lovely 16-minute walkthrough of a level where our titular Agent 47 has to evade a mess of cops to escape to freedom. First thoughts?
Well... we're not sure about the whole mix of Batman/Deus Ex style gameplay elements (not to mention the possibly now overdone BWAAM-BWAAM-style music from Inception). To my mind, Hitman's always played perfectly without cover and vision mechanics, but perhaps that's just a necessity in this post-Arkham Asylum world. It certainly looks great, the level design is wonderfully rich; plus, it looks like there's a ton of different ways to get through the level.
So, watch the trailer, and tell us what you think.
