Gallery: Some big changes are coming to our second favourite game, as World of Tanks announces its 7.0 update.
I feel a little guilty at the moment. Until recently, World of Tanks was my go-to game. It was what I fired up when I wanted a break from reviewing, when I had a spare ten minutes, or just wanted to chill and play around with armoured vehicles.
But all of a sudden... well, there's this little thing called Battlefield 3, and it's totally gotten in the way.
That said, we'll like head back to World of Tanks when the new 7.0 update comes along, as it sounds really interesting. Not only will it introduce two new maps - Swamp and Fjords, which are pretty self explanatory - but also a new camouflage skinnig system to further enhance gameplay.
Tank skins will now be matched to the environments they fight in, along with some other user defined options, allowing deeper strategic play. This, we like; if the Wargaming.net crew could deal with the still somewhat iffy spotting mechanics, and utilise real line of sight combined with good use of actual camo, the game will just get better and better.
Anyhoo, check out our gallery of shots of the new maps, and mess of tanks with neat new paintjobs.
