Gallery: SteelSeries' new Simraceway SRW-S1 Steering Wheel breaks the mold for racing controllers.
We're not much for racing games, but we know a handful of people who are all kinds of whacky over anything to do with F1 and hyper-competitive racing. So, really, this new steering wheel controller from SteelSeries isn't for us.
It's for them, the brave few who inhabit our ongoing F1 campaign to make it the most popular game in our forum.
But even we can see that this wheel is something else. It eschews the traditional design and instead uses motion sensors for steering control, and paddles for brake and throttle control. In other words, it's pretty perfect for anyone who doesn't have the time and/or space (also, patience) to set up a 'proper' Ben Mansill-approved racing rig.
It's got a fully customisable set of buttons, and while it was made with Simraceway in mind, will work just fine with other PC racing games. We've also put our hands up for a review sample, so watch this space.
In the meantime, pics - enjoy 'em!
