Fancy your skills as a modder, and love the gritty and challenging Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad? It's your lucky day, tovarich!
I wasn't all that keen about Red Orchestra 2, but there's no denying that Tripwire Interactive have taken its licks and come out swinging to make the game live up to is very high expectations. And now, the developers have gone one better and released the game's full SDK - for free - to everyone who already owns it.
We’re pleased to announce the release of the modding and map making tools for Red Orchestra 2, available free to everyone that owns Red Orchestra 2. While the limited functionality preview versions of the SDK have been available to select modders for a while, this release now makes the full capabilities of the Mod SDK available to everyone. Users can now make and publish everything from simple mods and mutators, through custom maps and on to full total conversion mods.
In fact, there's already a handful of mods in progress using the SDK, and you can check these out on the SDK release announcement.
Tripwire's a got a solid rep for ongoing game support (and for releasing games that need it), so it's great to see that continuing.
And now you may flame me.
