Gallery: The first RADEON HD 7970 with a custom PCB design has arrived in the office and received a thorough photographing on the way to the labs.
It is a safe to say that we have fallen in love with AMD's RADEON HD 7970 here in the Atomic offices. Sure, it delivers much more performance than any of our single monitor screen owning selves would ever need. But sometimes that doesn't matter, and tech lust sets in regardless.
Just when we thought we could breathe a sigh of relief and wait for the REDACTED to launch on the REDACTED of REDACTED 2012. But this morning ASUS turned up brandishing its RADEON HD Direct CU II, straight off the production lines. This is the first custom PCB version of the 7970 that we have seen. It also has a monstrous 3 slot cooler and a massive number of display outputs.
Our new reviews editor, Matt, has eagerly run off to the labs to start putting it through its paces, but in the meantime we have taken a bunch of photos of this wondrous piece of hardware.
