ASUS and XFX take very different approaches to RADEON 7950 Design

Gallery: Not all RADEON 7950 cards are created equal, so check out just why one of these card designs disappoints us.

AMD actually delayed the launch of the RADEON HD 7950 in response to criticism that it reverted to its old paper launch ways with the RADEON HD 7970. Despite announcing the top end card late last year, it wasn't actually in stores until several weeks later.

So this time around it is not only officially announcing the cards, but they are also in stores right now (albiet in limited supply). This delayed announcement also means that we are seeing custom cooler designs right off the bat, rather than having to wait a few weeks.

We have taken some photos of both the ASUS and XFX offerings that are currently in the labs. If you havent read our review then we'd suggest checking it out first, then having a look at this gallery of shots. Not only do we step through some of the features of the card, but we also dig into just why we were so dissapointed in the ASUS cooler design.
