THQ troubles deepen

Essential linkage: THQ may be denying rumours of massive game cancellations, but more layoffs and even CEO paycuts do not paint a pretty picture.

Poor damn THQ. Or, more accurately, poor damn THQ employees.

More than a few outlets have been reporting the rumours of development shutdowns, and while THQ has strenuously denied them, sadly, a lot of the folks who had to pass on those details have been effectively shutdown - made redundant, in other words.

Mark Serrels, over at Kotaku, today reports on the loss of 14 jobs at THQ Australia, part of a wider range of 240 job cuts. Even the THQ CEO has voluntarily halved his own pay.

And it's likely not the end of the bad news, as it appears a lot of the company's publishing partners in Australia, like Capcom and Disney, are going to look elsewhere.
