The black days of the local games industry continue, as 37 people at Sega Australia lose their jobs.
Bad news confirmed by Kotaku - the 80-strong team at Sega Studios Australia (who are finishing work on London 2012 - have had 37 people cut from the team.
In a direct email send to Mark Serrels at Kotaku, and likely the line being pushed to all media, Sega has said "... we can confirm that SSA has signed a multi-product deal focussing across the digital marketplace. We have commenced development on these titles and will announce more details in the near future. As part of this focus on digital avenues, there is a requirement to re-structure the studio resources accordingly and regrettably, we are announcing the loss of 37 staff."
Damn.
Our best wishes go out to everyone who's losing their job. Good luck guys.
