Spec Ops: The Line gets a June release date

Third person shooter Spec Ops: The Line gets a release date, pre-order bonuses announced.

We're quitely hopeful that Spec Ops: The Line, from 2K Games, is going to deliver a fresh take on the action shooter genre. It's promising the spruce up the staple desert combat with an interesting plot, some chilling villains, and a very exotic location. Yeah, I really want this to be good.

But we can, at least, confirm it's release date - it'll be hitting shelves for all major platforms on June 29 this year. 

As usual, a juicy pre-order bonus is on offer, and it includes a mess of goodies for game's multiplayer modes:

• Twice the amount of experience points will be awarded during the first week of play, enabling gamers to expedite character ranking;
• The AK-47 weapon will unlock at rank one;
• The “Officer Class” will unlock at rank one. This character class includes several team-based advantages, such as reducing damage to teammates and increasing the effectiveness of other classes;
• Access to the “FUBAR Pack,” which contains exclusive accessories allowing players to customize their characters with unique and visually distinctive items.
