Atomic Live event updater
As I’m sure you’re aware, Atomic Live is just around the corner. Dec 8th isn’t far away and we can now reveal more about what you can expect on the great day.
Whether you choose to just pop in, or stay the whole day there’s loads to see, do and win. Every single exhibitor has big huge cool prizes on the day. When you come to live with your rego printout, take it to each stand and have the barcode scanned in – that enters you in that companies competition, easy peasy and kinda fun. At the end of the day Dr Karl will draw all the winners on stage. If you’re not around and we draw you as a winner, no problem, you’ve still won, none of that re-draw nonsense. Your prize will be sent to you.
For the hardcore Atomicans we have a special comp – ‘Stay for the Day’. Come in the morning and stay for all the events through the day, then have yourself scanned again at 5:30 and you could be one of 20 winners. How ultimately supreme is that? Quite.
If you need an excuse to stay or day – or simply know how to plan your day at Atomic Live, here’s a feast of events for you to chew on:
11:00am – 11:15am: Opening Ceremony.
11:30am – 12:15pm: Official Australian Launch of Microsoft Visual Studio Express with Microsoft’s Dan Fernandez.
12:15pm – 12:45pm Kate Inabinet from Atari Melbourne House and Atomic’s Geekette – Women in Games.
12:30pm – 1:15pm: Peter ‘G-Gnome’ Dickison and Geoff Richards, unveiling of WMD mod and presentation of the past, present and future of modding.
2:15pm – 2:45pm: Atomic Staff Panel – ‘Testing Tech’.
2:30pm – 3:15pm: Microsoft’s Dale Glover – ‘Getting started with Visual Studio Express’.
3:00pm – 3:45pm: Michael Althorpe, Technical Manager, AMD Australia – ‘AMD and 64-bit computing’.
3:30pm – 4:30pm: Peter ‘G-Gnome’ Dickison and Geoff Richards – ‘The past, present and future of modding’.
5:30pm – 6:30pm: Dr Karl Kruszelnicki – ‘Atomic Live prize draw and Q&A’.
Please note that we will have simultaneous events in different parts of the event venue, so plan your day for maximum satisfaction. There’s more to come too, big cool stuff we’re still putting the finishing touches on. Suffice to say that if you come to Atomic Live your day will be a good one!
