Editor's Note

Atomic is back, and we've swung right back into tech action after a refreshing New Years break! We hope everyone out there has had a good holiday, too - we certainly did!

But now it's down to the very serious business of Maximum Power Computing - no time to shirk.

And what a New Year it's been - we've already been swamped with new releases, and we've got new reviews of all the latest gear to go with them.

The first big release of the year is AMD's Phenom II CPU. We've got a soft spot for AMD here, so we've had high hopes for Phenom II for a while - are our hopes met? Or dashed? Our review lets you know.

Also new on the tech block is NVIDIA's answer to the 4870X2 - the GTX295! It's two GTX260 cores sandwhiched together in a unique design and a sexy matte black shroud... and it's FAST. Check out our full review for the benchmarks.

And NVIDIA's been busy elsewhere, too, with announcements of new 3D technology straight from the floor at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. And very... naughty stuff it is too.

Plus much more in the links below.

Finally, if you're a strategy gaming fan like me, you're know doubt looking forward to the new Empire: Total War. Well, in the issue on sale today we've not only got a full preview, but there's a special offer for Atomic readers as well. Want a unique unit to aid in your conquest of the world? Atomic can help!

Oh, and if you've got anything you want to share, know about, ask or just feel like some company, don't forget our forums - the funnest place online!
