An aluminium box named desire. Well, ok, it's actually named the ATCS 840.

We like this case.

It's pretty, has a large number of big fans inside its cavernous interior and you can do tricky stuff like mount the PSU at the top or bottom of the case.

Then there's one of the best sliding motherboard trays we've ever seen, as well as a quick and painless locking system for drives.

Of course, things could have been better. Things could always have been better.

We would have liked to have seen SATA backplanes so it would become easier to hot-swap hard drives, and we would have liked more than the six 3.5in hard drive bays you get -- at the expense of two or three of the six 5.25in optical drive bays.

But that's about the extent of our complaints, and the layout of drive bays is quite nice as is anyway.

There's more sexy fun case times in the gallery.

Or availability. Or mention on the Coolermaster website...

Does this thing really exist?

If so, when and where can I buy it?

This thing really does exist.

Sometime in October is the timeframe floating around the interwebs.

No idea where you can buy it, though expect everywhere that carries Coolermaster gear to have it. Price is undetermined (we've asked, but are yet to get a response).

I've decided to upgrade to this case from my P182. I'm a fan of silent computing, but this is really just too good to avoid for long.
