The Royal Knight rides forth, with this latest CPU cooler from ASUS.
ASUS has already plundered Chinese mythology for a cooler design and name (see our review of the ASUS Lion Square in issue 94), and now the company has looked to European history in finding inspiration for its latest cooler design.
The Royal Knight is a cooler and fan combo with a unique all copper design, touched off with blackand gold plastic heraldry and a 120mm fan with a white LED. The box claims it operates at 22dBA under normal load, but we'll be testing this ourselves in an upcoming issue to make sure there's no royal lies going on. It supports all LGA775 processors, and socket 1207/AM2/AM2+ for the AMD fans
The all copper design is certainly impressive, and we're also impressed with the weight - at only 790g, it's a LOT lighter than the copper TRUE 120 we recently had in. The only real complaints we have so far is that the wafer thin copper radiator fins are so slight that even gentle handling can warp them out of shape.
Design-wise, well, that comes down to pure taste. If you were one of those kids (hell, adults!) that obssessed over medieval history, then this might just be the perfect cooler for your windowed case.
While you're waiting for our review, you can at least check out our gallery. Go forth, Sir Atomican, and may'st thou quest for glory!

I can't tell you where to find one, mohawk, but I can certainly tell you where to put one!
:)
And yeah, it's not a cooler I'd be putting in my dream machine, but hey, that's personal taste for you.

I think its time we started the IT version of: What were they thinking?
Or: WHat were those geeks thinking?
Like in Top Gear.
Maybe Atomic can have its own space on the Atomic website or magazine?
Anyone from Atomic want to comment on the idea?

That's a tough call.
It would be a good idea, but it would also have to be something we'd need to be very careful about. It's one thing to say a thing is bad, but another to outright lampoon it.
But, you know, if you wanted to do that on the forums...

I meant to say to do it in a constructive way.
