The TRUE 120 is back to cool your CPU, and this time it's got a hankering for Nehalem...

Everyone should be familiar with the TRUE 120 by now - it is, in a very real sense, teh king of heatsinks. It topped our cooling Head2Head in 89 with style and panache, and it's even available in a limited edition all-copper version which - unsurprisingly - is even better than the original.

And here it is again, in a Nehalem flavour!

There's really not a lot new to report, other than all that's changed, really, is the socket configuration, which is now the Core i7 socket 1366. Other than that, it's a classic TRUE.

Oh, and it comes in a nice new shiny box, too. Which is kinda cool, though, ultimately just packaging. But still cool. Anyway, before we rant too much, check out our gallery of shots. Our photo table is currently in use for issue 97's photography, so we've had to shoot it on Justin's desk.

Enjoy!

Eww what's with the attached fan? A couple more shots and angles woulda been nice.

Looks alright though.

The new socket version comes with an attached fan fatty ;)
I'm more keen on the Noctua cooler myself, but we'll see.

I thought Justin's bench was the toilet with the lid down! :)

Nice heat sink.. any AM2 compatibility... or this one just strictly 1366?

FB, the fan is actually quite nice, and is comparable to the Scythe fans in terms of quality. SC, it's strictly 1366. Shik, Yeah, that was my reaction too - where was the understated cardboard box? Though the fan is decent, so I'm of two minds about it.

Is a mounting kit for the old 775 available for the 1336? I've got two 120mm fans mounted on mine and I lapped the bottom for over five hours. I get 40 degrees on idle.

I don't think so, Jack, but we can check!

Sorry Jack, it only comes with 1366 brackets. The good news is that they sell just the bracket separately, so you can still use your current TRUE with LGA1366 :)

Wonder if they will bring it out in pure copper as copper prices are right down nowadays.
