Turning PC case design on its head.

As soon as you read the name of the SilverStone RV01 case (also known as the Raven), you'd have associated it immediately with the manufacturer of great cases.

With past successes such as the TJ07, enthusiasts have come to know their products intimately, and we'd freely admit we've spent some time caressing their finely brushed aluminium works.

The Raven is not made of aluminium, but steel. And it's definitely not your average case - the ATX layout has been spun by 90 degrees.

Check out the gallery for pics and descriptions, and make sure you pick up Issue 98 of Atomic for the full review and our final verdict.

Interesting case. I usually like Silverstone cases, but I don't like the look of this one. Looks like they've tried too hard to make it completely 'out-there'

Call me boring but my ideal case is a massive full tower case with clean, simple styling, NO plasic quick release anything and support for industry standard items.

I've worked on a number of fancy Thermaltake/Silverstone/etc cases where installing things like fan controllers, card readers and even some more 'normal' items like hard drives and optical drives was made difficult (or in some cases impossible) due to the poorly designed tool-less design that is thrust upon us.

Thumbscrews FTW.

I must say im typically a fan of a more understated, clean design than something like this...

But come on...

Its a fucking stealth bomber case! The price will be a big factor but id seriously consider owning this carpet-bombing bad boy ;)

that actually looks quite good... interesting idea rotating the MB around, it almost makes sence ^_^. I wonder why they left such a big empty area at the base near the front, other than potential water cooling its kinda wasted.

I don't really know if I like the look of the case or not. At first glance I don't really like it, but who knows, it might grow on me...
But even if it does grow on me, it's no Lian Li X-2000.

As to the name, "Raven" - I think I'd like it better if it were called Revan.

I reckon this case looks great, But each to their own.

My worry would be the amount of space available to route cables from the top > back > out. Especially if you have to bend those thick DVI cables @ 90 degrees.

HOLY SMOKING STEALTH BOMBERS!

It looks good, but i have doubts about how the internal side of things will work.
and i dont like the all the pointy things sticking out the top, (ie a flat top would look better)

Actually i cant believe i didnt think of that, Argotha. :S

The spastic number of cords that are now at least somewhat hidden at the back of my case would now all protrude vertically like digital dreadlocks from the top! Add to this some DVI>RGB adapters and im not sure it would even fit under the desk?!

I love the look of this case, I've always been a fan of sharp lines and interesting structure such as this. I agree though that the cabling out of the top would pose a problem and spoil the aesthetics somewhat.

To be honest, the first thing I thought of when I saw this case was Batman.
