Verdict:
A great new energy drink that doesn't need caffeine to taste nice.

Cracking open a fresh can of LOL

Thin 250mL cans are the mainstay of the average gamer, chucking down handily-sized amounts of caffeine to fuel their gaming furnace (where the leetness comes from).

But this isn't your typical energy drink - it's so much more entertaining.

Called LOL and made by Golden Circle (yes, the fruit company) there are a couple of different flavours, all of which are natural fruit juice - but carbonated.

We grabbed a can of Razz Bri, a deliciously fruity word play on the flavour of the drink itself.

It actually tastes just like raspberry juice does too (though in this case it's a mix of 97% apple, and 2% raspberry - you can't really tell). The consistency is akin to nectar, with a very small amount of fizz to give it an extra kick.

As for the energy it gives you, it's got 498kJ of energy per 250mL serving. Every gamer has tried green V - that only has 480kJ - so you're actually getting more energy from a can of LOL than you do a can of V!

Of course it doesn't have any caffeine in it, but it's only about $1.70 to buy from your local supermarket and should be available pretty much everywhere shortly!

It's even got 100mg of Vitamin C in it - you only need 60mg of it per day to be healthy, and it tastes quite awesome.

Check out the gallery for some pics of this wacky drink, and LOL at the images of LOL.

Unlike my fellow Atomicans above me, I didn't think it was a dildo and am glad it's not a dildo.

It has more energy coz its pretty much pure sugar syrup.
Added Vitamin C coz all of the good stuff is taken out by turning the fruit into sugar.
Sounds Awesomes

No caffeine? Strange. Caffeine is there because it's a stimulant.. not really for the taste. How would this keep you awake... placebo :P?

Looks cool anyhow. Don't think we have em in NZ.
