ASUS' PCIe soundcard - with a built in headphone amp!
ASUS have made a few Xonar soundcards over the past two years, and each have been quite nifty in their own right.
The Xonar Essence STX is a PCIe 1x card, with an EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) shield, optical/coaxial output, RCA output L/R and two 6.3mm headphone jacks - that are powered by an onboard amplifier.
There's even a front panel audio header on the top of the card to hook up your case, and the whole thing draws enough power to need a Molex connector on it.
It's even got a swappable OPAMP (OPerational AMPlifier, or the bit that produces the final electrical signal for sound) for those audiophiles who want something just a little bit better.
Check out the gallery for some pics of the card, descriptions, and grab an upcoming Atomic mag for the full review.
